Tree Felling, Tree Removal & Tree Dismantling in North Wales

Whether your tree is on private, commercial, farm, or public land in the North Wales area, the team at R. Jones Tree Services has the necessary experience, qualifications, and licenses to take care of your tree.

Tree Felling vs Dismantling

The choice over whether to fell a tree - to cut it down as a single piece at its base - or whether to dismantle it branch-by-branch in stages, comes down to safety.

While felling a tree is the quickest way to bring a tree down to the ground, there are times when there isn’t the necessary space to do it safely. If the surrounding ground is uneven or sloped, again felling could be unsafe as the tree will slip and slide when it hits the ground.

When felling is not an option, we’ll dismantle the tree in stages. Branch by branch, we’ll cut it down until we reach ground level. We’ll either climb the tree using safety ropes and other specialist equipment, or use a mobile crane, and cut the branches in stages.

If we have to climb the tree, don’t worry, we’ve done this many, many times before (and we have insurance!)

Removing the tree roots (or keeping them)

In most cases, the removal of a tree will mean cutting it down to ground level and leaving the roots intact in the ground.

This will preserve the strength and structure of the ground around the tree, and prevent the ground shifting. It also keeps costs down.

However, there are times when roots are causing problems and these also need removing from the ground. The roots may be impacting pipes, walls or disrupting another property. We can remove tough roots at R.Jones Tree Services. We use specialist equipment and plenty of elbow grease. It can be a dirty and hard job, but we’re up to it!

Wood Chipping and removing the waste wood

Once your tree has been cut down, we then begin the process of removing the waste wood from your property.

Depending on the species of tree and the quality of waste wood, the wood can be turned into woodchip or cut into small logs for firewood. You can choose to keep the wood chip or firewood, or ask us to clear your site of all waste wood. But whatever option you choose, we’ll make sure your site is left clean, safe, and clear from debris.

Woodchip can be ideal for landscaping, weed prevention, and ground cover. It can also make an ideal mulch and compost for soil as it is carbon-rich and retains moisture.

Again, depending on the health of your waste wood, you can ask for us to turn the wood into firewood logs that you can use in your home or factory.

It might be tempting, but don’t try to fell a tree yourself - call a professional

Tree felling and tree dismantling is usually dangerous work. If a mistake or miscalculation happens, it can mean serious damage to people and property. Furthermore, a license is needed to fell trees in certain situations. This is why you must call a professional to carry out the work safely.
